Day 6: Cairns, Australia
September 27th, 2005

Spent the day working on the boat, preparing for our departure from Cairns. Lots of things to get before heading out. Shopped for provisions, purchased snorkle-gear (which I will donate to the Makulu when I head back.), and arranged for my return flight from Thursday Island, all the way up on Cape York, where the Makulu drops me off before heading westward. I tried to call my boys several times - unseccessful in getting through. I miss them very much now, and wish they were here to experience some of this with me.

Here's a few shots from my last day before we head out to sea aross the Great Barrier Reef. The video is, fittingly, a message to my mom, who would absolutely flip if she saw the plants and trees here. She's a real green thumb. Old School from Miami, Florida.
